Medicare Secondary Payer Service Provider Becomes ISO Crowe Paradis

BOSTON, May 1, 2013 — Crowe Paradis Services Corporation, a leading provider of Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) services to the property/casualty insurance industry, is excited to announce that it has completed the first step in a rebranding program. As of today, Crowe Paradis Services Corporation will be known as ISO Crowe Paradis. The new brand was created to reflect the combined, value-added solutions from ISO and ISO Crowe Paradis now available to customers. Medicare Advantage (MA) plans are quickly emerging as the latest area for concern on the Medicare compliance front.  Armed with a recent favorable court decision permitting MA plans to seek “double damages” against primary payers, MA plans are becoming more aggressive in asserting reimbursement claims. Primary payers are starting to receive an increasing number of “lien” notices from MA plans.

As Fall arrives, there are some interesting developments on the Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) compliance front. In one area, CMS’ recently released conditional payment portal is underway providing the industry with a new tool to address conditional payment issues.  On another front, there was a recent court ruling permitting a claimant to file an action for “double damages” against a workers’ compensation carrier.
